About the Author

The Author, C.N. SMITH, was born into a military family overseas where his father was serving at the time. He was orphaned at an early age and educated in a military boarding school. He, like his father, became a regular soldier. His army career began in The Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, as an electrician, and he was with them when he served in Korea from the start of the war there. Later he transferred to the 3rd Carabiniers, a cavalry (tanks) regiment and served in other theatres of trouble, including Kenya, Suez, Cyprus, Aden and Kuwait. At the end of his army career he joined the Civil Service where he worked until he reached retirement age. He is also the author of CHRISTMAS TALES, his first series of short stories, sold in aid of charity. Now, a septuagenarian, he spends his time writing stories with the intention to help others in society.
