About the Author

John Parker is the News Assignment Editor at 16 WAPT News in Jackson Mississippi. A retired Naval Officer, he served for twenty years in aviation squadrons, ships and duty stations all over the world before retiring as a Lieutenant Commander in 1996. He enjoys writing and music and is an avid supporter of the military. “My time in the United States Navy was unforgettable and I enjoyed every minute of it.” He is married to his wife of thirty years that he calls, “Miss America,” Phyllis “Peggy” Parker and they have two sons Jameson and Eddie. The Parker’s reside in Jackson Miss.
