About the Book

How could a family be ripped apart by lies and deceit perpetrated by one man who tried to manipulate and control them all? It didn’t take long for Glen to insert himself into a normal, loving, and strong family, only to begin tearing them apart one by one, and each time, he left a wake of destruction in his path that was unforeseen. This is a fast-moving and powerful story about how one man can nearly destroy a family created with years of love and trust. A few horrible and frightening events have caught the family off guard and unprepared for a predator’s unrelenting pursuit. This is a story of manipulation, control, abuse, and eventually, survival but only after proving once again the value of a strong family. It is a fiction but can be a true story for anyone in today’s world, and once again, Marilyn Randall spins the story in such a way that keeps us on the edge and wanting to know more at every turn of the page.

About the Author

Marilyn was a graphic art director before retiring in the early 1990s and illustrating and writing children's books. She produced six children's books and illustrated them, followed by an anthology of her adult work to that date, titled My Heart and Soul. Quicksand was her first attempt at writing a novel, and it was a work she was very proud of. It was well received, being about an interracial couple trying to cope in today's society—something she had experienced firsthand. Her most recent book was published under a pen name; it was an accounting of the life of an alcoholic—something else she could relate to, being a recovering alcoholic herself with twenty-six years in recovery.

Her newest book, Pleasure Point, is a novel about abuse and manipulation. The subjects she writes about are issues that are heartfelt, and because she recognizes the epidemic of abuse in our society, she has tried, with this newest book, to bring to light the workings of a predator's mind by telling the story of a family caught up in some of the issues she herself has experienced.

Marilyn lives on Whidbey Island in Washington State and shares her home with her beautiful Maltese named Toby. "The serenity of island life and the beauty that surrounds me are the key ingredients that allow me the solace I need to write—that and the love of Toby, who is my constant companion and truly has my heart."
