About the Book

Thirteen-year-old Jamel found the courage to confront his mom about his father selling drugs. This caused his mom to make a decision that would change their lives forever. Faced with the possibility of losing his family, Jamel’s dad had some tough decisions to make too. Through separation, he realized that there are other ways of making an honest living and, ultimately, what is more important in life.

About the Author

Patrick Brown is a former police detective who has worked with the Jamaica Constabulary Force in his homeland of Jamaica. He is married and lives with his wife and children in New York. He currently works in the New York State Penal System. He enjoys writing, traveling, and telling stories.
