About the Book

The novel AGGRAVATED ASSAULT hopefully fulfills elements of a romantic comedy as well as a fine anti-government spy thriller.  The protagonist, Dennis Fred, is drawn into the Washington D.C. corruptive environment through a joint task force created to conduct a criminal investigation, secretive by order of the President under national security regulations.  Fred finds that he has been chosen for a secret assassination squad; he also finds that he cannot refuse without himself being chosen for assassination.  He joins to find that it is an old organization, dating back to WWII.

Fred finds love in the form of a black woman and her child, meeting her at the White House.  He becomes ever deeper ensnared with the assassination squads, learning that no one is really safe, and discovering an inherent irresponsibility in the decision-making process of the Government.  The criminal investigation, for which he is brought to D.C. is abruptly canceled, as the Government leadership decides to subsume the illegal gene therapy program, which the secret criminal investigation had thought to stop.  Fred himself knows to much to get out; he is tasked with the elimination of the original criminal conspirators, to maintain secrecy.  Fred begins to fear for his new family, thinking they will die with him, if he is eliminated.

Time passes with the continual elimination, one by one, of all the participants who had brought him into the assassination squads.  They died, were killed, or left government service.  Dennis rises to command the assassination squads, and everyone who had brought him was gone.  The President who had appointed him left office.  Dennis Fred finds himself in a role he had not picked, did not want, and could not escape; no option remaining except to be in control of the governments terror machine.

About the Author

Lawrance George Lux is a fifty-year-old former farmer, construction worker, economist, and historian with an M.Ed. His study of social issues has led him to conclude that evils of Government come from a combination of technical expertise, expediency, and transitory leadership, which brings forth irresponsibility and corrupt decision-making.
