Down home cooking is a dieing "Art"! Here in the South, cooking is at the heart of many events, especially family gatherings. Oh, the sweet, warm, fond memories that the smells of Sunday dinner wafting through the air brings back! The smells of hot, fresh yeast rolls and homemade apple cobbler bubbling gently in the oven. The wonderful aroma of frying chicken in that black iron skillet. I strive to keep the art and traditions of homemade cooking alive and well in my home. I also cherish the special bonding time with my grand daughter while stirring up a batch of her favorite cookies. Having this special time with her is not only a learning experience for her, but it's a time of building the strength of our loving relationship. It's a time of creating special memories that will stay with her long after I am able to be in kitchen along side of her. Perhaps she'll one day share these loving memories and time honored traditions with her own daughter and grand children.

Tanya Howell is a Southern Born, Southern Bred cook/chef. Though she never had any "formal" schooling or training in the field of the culinary arts, Tanya is a "natural" in the revolutionary finesses of the delectable creations that makes what you and I consider the be the "Heart of the Home" the "Kitchen"!
