About the Book

PUDDLES OF ITHACA is a true story about a little boy (the author) and his beagle dog and their adventures in beautiful Ithaca, New York. It took place about 60 years ago. The book begins with a neighbor bringing a basket of puppies onto the porch of the little boy´s house. The neighbor, Patsy Job Daghita, was the daughter of the President of Ithaca College at that time, Leonard B. Job, and his wife, Edith. This book is in memory of Patsy Job Daghita. PUDDLES OF ITHACA includes other family members in both Ithaca and out of town and Puddles is never one to stay put. She was a very likeable and friendly dog and the book emphasizes those points and how much people loved her. In addition to family members being important in this story, students of both Ithaca College and Cornell University knew and greeted Puddles. Some of the students at times lived in the Davison home. Neighborhood children in that East Hill area often had Puddles as part of their group activities. Puddles was a great companion of a little boy and all he was involved in as a child. This book gives much credit to the public and private educational system in Ithaca, the people there and especially the wonderful neighborhood where Puddles and the family lived.
