Author Biography
Peter Wludyka is a writer, statistician, and commentator on politics and society. He lives in Jacksonville, Florida, with his wife Catherine, five cats, and a lazy black dog. Their old house is surrounded by live oaks that remind them of their previous home, Charleston, S.C., which is the setting for his first novel, The Past is Another Country (Simon & Schuster, 1988). Described as “a finely detailed futuristic fantasy” (Chicago Tribune) whose “strange luminosities are profound” (Christian Science Monitor), The Past is… was his first sortie into speculative fiction.
His speculative fiction blends action and adventure with penetrating character studies that are intended to be entertaining and provocative.
Peter Wludyka is a professor at the University of North Florida. He has published dozens of scientific papers; has co-authored a statistics book for researchers, The Analysis of Means: A Graphical Method for Comparing Means, Rates, and Proportions; and engages in collaborative medical and health related research at the University of Florida Health Sciences Center in Jacksonville. He has a Ph.D. degree from Clemson University.
