This is a collection of fictional short stories about people who must deal with personal dilemmas.  All but two have been published on the Internet, although I have permitted myself to revise them for this book.  Below I provide a one line summary for each of the fifteen stories.

Ken is afraid to be without a gun and must come to terms with it.

"The Cheshire Downs Dialogue"

A brief conversation between a doctor who performs abortions and a man who is religiously opposed.

"The Gospel According to Judas"

The Gospel as told from the point of view of Judas Iscariot.

"Reckless"

Mr Longstreet gets a speeding ticket.

"At the Gates of Hell"

The story of a man's reluctance to attend his high school reunion.

"Portugal"

A man wakes to find himself sleeping in a strange bed with a strange woman who claims to be his wife.

"The Healing of SK"

The reunion of two Vietnam veterans, one of whom is supposed to be dead.
