About the Book

"This is one of the first poetry books where I was captivated and sympathized with every word that I read. These poetic words sung deeply in my soul (mind and emotions); which made it harder to chose my favorite ones." -Adrienne Turner, DREAM 4 MORE

Empowering feminist poetry meets love and longing in the midnight hour.--KIRKUS INDIE REVIEW
br> “Her poetry comes to life with courageous statements and confessions regarding love, spirituality, and life. It’s a book that dares you to explore life mentally and emotionally and is a strikingly bold adventure through a woman’s heart, mind, and soul.”--T.S. Wilkins, STAND AGAIN, O WEARY SOUL

"Ophelia Brown i s a refreshing spirit whose words will invigorate wasted gardens strewn with the overgrowth of saucer-imprinte dnapkins. Her words will guide you as this journey takes little for granted. There you will fine joy, faith, pain, and passion upon the notes Ophelia skillfully plays through this book." -- Raymond C. Brookter, SONGS FROM THE SKETCHBOOK

“It is a carefully crafted blend of classical and modern influences, feminism and post feminism.”-- Chris Hayden, AALBC

About the Author

S.J. Heidelberg graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a Bachelor’s in English, 2005 and her Master’s in Library Science, 2010. In addition to writing, she plays the violin and experiments with poetry performance. This collection of mostly free verse poems features imagery, sensory wording, and metaphor as well as simile. Her poems are by nature feminist—uplifting the woman as creator of love and as taking an active part in her own destiny. The poems are a young woman’s experiences which lead her from a thirst born in the wilderness to a life-affirming knowledge of self.
