Booze at Breakfast is a family portrait of the disease of alcoholism.

About the Author

Growing up in a chaotic alcoholic home, Catherine watched the brutality that she portrays in this fictionalized family saga. Her own ten years of recovery in Al-Anon led her to work in addictions and therapy following her brother’s suicide. She writes with the passion of knowing firsthand. As writer, she skillfully invites the reader in to witness the daily portions of the pain of alcoholic families as well as the beauty and spirituality in recovery. This is her first novel, a composite of many people’s stories. It was nine years in the writing—“my great teacher,” she acknowledges gratefully.
