About the Author

Jerome Svigals is a banking and transaction card consultant. He was ranked by the “American Banker” newspaper as one of the top 25 United States banking industry consultants. He has been an advisor to the US Congress, the US Treasury, and the Department of Justice. Also, an invited speaker at more than 300 finance industry conferences. He served as a vice-president and strategic planning officer for the Bank of America and as a Senior Planning Officer for the Lloyd's Bank, City of London, England. He has authored books on electronic banking for Macmillan, McGraw Hill. Recent books are Bank Branching 2010, Smart Cards 2010, and Retail Bank 2020. Employed by IBM until he retired, he was the assistant director of marketing for their US data processing company, and systems manager for the Asia/Australia portion of IBM World Trade Corporation. He led the IBM team that developed and tested the first international standard magnetic striped cards and tickets. Mr Svigals’ has been honored by the Computer History Museum, Mountain View, California. See Youtube (Svigals Computer History). He was the Alumnus of the Year 2009 for the Engineering School Alumni of the City College of New York. Mr Svigals was the IBM Senior Banking Industry consultant, world- wide. He is a board member of the Silicon Valley Round Table of the National Association for Business Economics.
