Feltus Lee

The author was born in New Orleans in the fifties, a time when turmoil in America was in its infancy and changing times were just around the corner. Sixties turbulence brought awareness of African-American plight and personal evolution, as the drive for overcoming black stereotypes and achieving diverse goals became his lifelong ambition. His Father’s experience as a World War II veteran and acquaintance with Malcolm X, caused him to embrace the philosophies of Malcolm and Gen. George S. Patton and helped shape his future, for their levels of commitment and intense determination showed him that accomplishing objectives was essential and that they had to be achieved, to quote Malcolm, ‘by any means necessary’. “When life presents a hurdle, you jump it. If that’s not possible, you run around it. If that can’t be done, you knock it over. One should never let a goal escape without giving your best effort through every avenue available. If success escapes your grasp, it won’t be because of a lack of effort.” Hurdling obstacles and reaching goals has been the author’s mission. His journey from B/S in Physical Education to award-winning television news photographer was a leap of some magnitude. Having no collegiate education in the field of broadcast journalism, he applied himself to every avenue and resource, leaving no page unturned or shutter unsnapped in his quest of photographic excellence. Now the mission is to become a respected novelist and carve his way to levels of success as a writer with an eye on the world we live in. “Since childhood, I’ve spent my life with my eye focused on the people of the world, learning from the experiences of our society. My evolution into news photography became a vehicle that allowed me to show the world as it happened, but simply playing the role of news voyeur was no longer enough. The need to make statements by writing novels that capture human frailties as well as strengths, and tell stories that entertain as well as educate have become my prime directive. Capturing the essence of our existence, filling in the factors that comprise the ‘Human Equation’, is my objective. Everyone evolves. The question is, do we enhance or degrade our abilities as we journey through life. No matter where I am as a writer, I’ve dedicated myself to raising the bar on my work in a never-ending effort at making it worthy of the reader’s attention. Satisfaction is one of the greatest gifts in the ‘Human Equation’ ” The author’s journey has begun with the hope that you will join him on a voyage of discovery, for the world within the mirror has many stories to tell.
