Joy Gush

Author Biography

Joy Gush was born in Devonshire, England. Tutored by her father in her early years, Joy developed her own style of painting the English countryside. The appealing thatched cottages, the colorful quilt effect of fields laced together by stone walls or hedgerows with wild flowers, mysterious wildlife on Dartmoor, cliff-side vistas and secluded beaches all emerge on canvas as scenes from Joy´s memories of childhood in England.

From the late 1960s in New York City Joy exhibited her paintings in the Seagram Building on Park Avenue, for example, in the offices of General Investment Funds, and Flower World Franchises. Also on Fifth Avenue and 50th Street, in the offices of Pinnacle Associates; RKO General on Broadway, and the Madison Avenue offices of the prominent Dr.Martin Wohl, Optometrist and Contact Lens Specialist.

In the 1980s Joy´s work was displayed and sold from Tuscany Gallery, New York City. She does not know her many buyers and collectors and she would really enjoy hearing from them. Many samples of her work are shown on these pages because her late agent found that with many people inspiration was gained for new personalized paintings by viewing those already exhibited in his gallery.

My heartfelt thanks and gratitude to MARTIN WOHL whose caring professionalism photographed all of my paintings over the years, 70 samples of them are now shown on my web site.

And to RICK CASSIDY for his integrity and diligence in handling my computer needs as technician and webmaster. Contact Rick by e-mail: rick@artbyjoygush.com I am so impressed with Rick. He has a most interesting website of his own www.ricksbots.com Check out his creations in his robotic "brain children" GALLERY that will run our inventions in future years.

And my heartfelt gratitude to THE SALVATION ARMY for their loving care and support to all those in need over the years.
