About the Book

The most important step is not to find the answers for a thinker. The first step, on the contrary, is to spot the task in accordance to one's ethosal tradition. The task is to catalogue the contemporary 'concerns', 'issues', 'problems', 'sources of anxiety', 'fonts of angst', and thereafter present a coherent ethosal answer for the contemporary generation in a global perspective in all fields and domains of vital significance. This is the task a Shia-thinker (and religious thinkers in general) should turn to.

About the Author

Seyed Javad Miri graduated from Goteborg University in Sweden and got his doctor degree from Bristol University in England and has been a Visiting Professor in England, China and Russia at the departments of Philosophy, Sociology and Social Anthropology respectively and he has been working on the relation between social theory, religion and philosophy and soon shall move to Sharif University in Iran.
