About the Book

Dark Memoirs is a series of stories told from the points of view of several characters, each having had a spine-chilling encounter with such supernatural entities as ghosts and werewolves, while other characters recount their own horrific experiences with life-altering events such as schizophrenia and murder. Each story takes place in Boyle Heights, deep in the heart of East Los Angeles, California; a community rich with Mexican-American culture. As the stories unfold, each storyline interlocks and connects with the next, creating a dark universe which erupts from the obscure and forgotten corners of the city of Los Angeles.

About the Author

Jesse Ramirez is a musician and horror movie enthusiast who grew up in East Los Angeles during the first part of his childhood, then moved to Pico Rivera, California during the 1980’s while in his teens. He graduated from California State University, Dominguez Hills where he studied writing and attained a BA degree in English Literature. He presently teaches high school in Los Angeles and lives in Whittier, California with his two daughters Noraida and Talia.
