About the Author

George Criner Green was born in Waco, Texas. His early formal education began with his mother, a respected childcare provider. Following graduation from AJ Moore High School, he attended Bishop College in Dallas, Texas where he earned a bachelor of arts degree in Sociology. Upon entering college, his first choice was a major in music with aspirations of becoming a composer. In this book there are several song-poems, Sweet Waco, is one of his musical pieces. However, sometime after his freshman year, he changed his major studies from music to sociology. Later he discovered that he enjoyed writing poetry more than music. His poems emphasize feelings and imaginations of true events in his life, places he has lived, and people that have made an impression on his life. This book, “A Special Request”, is Volume II preceded by “Home on the Brazos”, his first work. George is married to Wanda Jones Green; they have three children and grands. He has worked in the social service field for many years, and is currently an educator and entrepreneur.
