About the Author

Blaque Diamond is a rare diamond. Her composition sets her apart from other writers, and from other authors of all kinds. Diamonds range is from children books to memoirs, but it is Blaque Diamond's uniqueness that makes her most interesting. Blaque Diamond is the owner of Blaque Diamond Enterprise (BDE), and the author of “In My Mother’s House” and “She Named Me Stacey.” Her mission is to support individuals and families as they go through the journey of parenting, kinship care, foster care and adoption. Through her work, Diamond travels across the United States and facilitate meetings, workshops, and trainings on a host of parenting, foster and adoption-related topics. Prior to her work for BDE, Diamond was at Safe Space (formerly The Center for Children and Families,) Kennedy Krieger Institute, Family Connections and Endless Options, where she transitioned from a part-time position to a full-time caseworker for children aging out of care in Maryland. In addition, Diamond is creating a parenting program for parents who really want to parent. As a model for family advocacy she demonstrates strategies for strength perspectives for professionals and parents as they identify their own strength. Diamond has three biological children raised nine nieces and nephews, four of whom are now adults, two of whom she was granted custody and three of whom she will adopt from the NYC foster care system. This blend of professional and personal experience has given her extra insight into what it’s like to parent, foster and adopt through the child welfare system. Diamond is currently working on the sequel to “In My Mother’s House” and her second children’s book.
