“Annie and the Wash Pan of Ripe Bananas” is a story that deals with the choices and consequences a young girl faces. Annie, fi nding herself bored one day when school was on holidays, defi es her grandmother’s request to read. This resulted in her being unable to get close to the parade. The story highlights the reading strategy, “cause and effect” in a novel way. Elements of grammar including nouns are also presented as well as fi gurative language. “Annie and the Wash Pan of Ripe Bananas”, legitimizes children fantasies during fun time. About the Author

Paulet Facey is a teacher in New York City. Her love for writing emerged while she was in high school at Mount Alvernia High, Montego Bay, Jamaica where she won Harmony in the Homes Competition twice. She is a graduate of the renowned Mico Teachers College. Paulet holds a B.Ed degree from UWI, Mona, Jamaica and a M.Sc. from Touro College , New York. Mrs. Facey has expertly blended reading strategies and nostalgic episodes in an artistic manner while using a contemporary approach, to provide enjoyment for young readers.
