About the Book

Rays of Hope: Poems of Faith and Inspiration is a book of poetry designed for a varied reading experience. The poems in this volume point regularly to the love, promises, and faithfulness of God. Each poem can be read as an individual devotional prompt or poems can be read as desired. The reader is encouraged to use the open space on each page for his or her own reflections, expressions, or prayer. The variable length and style of the poems is deliberate to enable a variety of reflection experiences and opportunities.

About the Author

Karyl J. Leslie has been an ordained minister in the United Church of Christ since 1986. She served parishes in Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and Indiana and is now retired and living in Orange, Massachusetts. In addition to pastoral ministry, she worked for several years in the mental health field. Her education includes a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Massachusetts and a master of divinity degree from Harvard Divinity School. In addition, while in Pennsylvania, she pursued studies in a doctor of ministry program, with a focus on ministry with individuals struggling with special issues. She has been writing poetry since grade school and hopes that this book, Rays of Hope, will provide encouragement and support for people going through difficult times and those who are trying to live with hope from day to day.
