About the Book

This book contains just a sampling of the many adventures of a very special rescue cat named Young, who—as the result of an accident—lost one of her front paws as a kitten. It’s never slowed her down, and her adventures reinforce perseverance, along with providing the reader with important life lessons such as learning, reading, compassion, and diversity.

About the Author

Jim Spencer is a transplanted New Yorker now living in Florida after a 20-year stop in Georgia. Jim and his wife Denise have a soft spot for all animals, but especially cats. At any given time, they provide a home to multiple cats, and all are rescues. Inspiration for this book comes from the 3-legged Young, of course, and the children and staff at Lake Forest Elementary School in Sandy Springs, Georgia, where Jim first introduced her to the students on one of his volunteer teaching visits. Without them, Young would of course be loved, but the students inspired the author to make her famous as well.
