About the Book
Sheighle Birdthistle engages the heart, mind and imagination in her poetry as she contemplates the real and the abstract. The aching need to confront her humanity is obvious and the poetry reflects this longing. This poet enjoys dancing with the absurdity of life and writes with honesty that expresses her love of words. The Toga and The Rose is a poetry of the personal and the universal that takes the reader from the depths of despair to a sublime happiness.
