About the Author

Valeriana Bandeh (nee Blasse), was born on the island of St. Lucia, where she longed to teach from the time she was a little girl. Today she shares her 24 years of experience in education and best instructional practices with students and teachers. Bandeh has taught literacy in the Caribbean and in the United States- elementary, high school and adult learners. With a Masters’ Degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), she works with English learners and provides writing workshops for teachers. She has published three other works: Betrothed-The Gambia Story, Whispers: An Anthology of Multicultural Short Stories and Language Arts: A New Perspective.
