About the Book

If you're white you're all right; If you're brown stick around; If you're black stay back. unknown author This was the prevailing poem we all heard and repeated at each other when I was growing up. My hope is that this book will recant and perhaps replace this. African Americans Have the richest Array of skin colors you could ever see; as do some other groups too! Look around. What do you see? . . . . Wherever you go proud colors— From white to midnight, surround us—like Living rainbows!

About the Author

I have written and published three books: I Named Google, Voices on Identity..., and Skin Deep by Screebee. Screebee is the nickname my father called me as a child. To me it is a derivative of Ancient Egyptian Scribe and scribble. My mission is to provide educational information about African American culture and identity through artwork and as a writer. Also to provide historical documentation and craft horror stories. My primary audiences are children/parents – focusing on different eras from the time we were Negroes to now. Now in my 70’s and retired from 20 years of service with the Seattle Police Department Crime Prevention Division I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications/Journalism from the University of Washington; a Certificate in Computer Graphics & Animation from Bellevue College and enough credits from Shoreline Community College (I now attend) for yet another degree that I do not need. I also worked for FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) now Homeland Security for a few years. And, I am the single parent of 2 maybe 3 sons (explained in upcoming book).
