Aristocrats of the Spirit

About the Book

Included in this writing are records of men and women of all faiths who influenced me at different times of my life. I consider each to be an aristocrat of the spirit because each was memorable in my early life, in more than fifty-five years of ministry, and in my retirement. The use of the word “aristocrat,” however, has nothing to do with the lineage of folks born to wealth or status but just to those who influenced others for good, either the common good or for someone’s enriched personal life. In my estimation, they are “aristocratic” only because of their own individual positive selves. These are people I have either been related to or have met one way or another and in whom I admired their sense of decency or the way they endured their personal struggles. We need to be inspired daily by everyday heroes and heroines who keep us focused on our goals.

About the Author

E E Hunt is an Episcopal priest who has lived and served in urban and rural California; suburban St. Louis; New York City for sixteen years; Dallas, Texas; and Paris, France, for more than ten years. He was rector of the Church of Epiphany in Manhattan, dean of the St. Matthew’s Cathedral in Dallas, and dean of the American Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in Paris, France, for more than ten years. He has published seven previous books, one academic and six novels about our turbulent times in regard to terrorism and human trafficking. He graduated from Stanford University with two degrees, the Episcopal seminary of the Southwest with two degrees, and Princeton Theological Seminary, where he earned a doctorate. In a time of religious division and political mistrust, his interest is in promoting a common sense of human decency and reconciliation amongst the practitioners of all faiths.
