About the Book

This story is about Marguerite, an accomplished pianist who lost her ability to play the piano after suffering a paralytic stroke that almost took her life. She was devastated and deeply concerned about her three young children and their care, especially after she found that her condition was permanent. When she consulted her former piano teacher, he suggested she return to teaching piano to children, using only one hand. For the next twenty-five years, her life was full of joy until thorns flooded her life with many orthopedic surgeries needed that eventually left her wheelchair bound, unable to stand or walk at all. Pain, depression, and hopelessness took over; this time, she called out to her Savior, Jesus, to help her. Her faith took deep roots and her life took on a whole new meaning. With God's help, she received the strength to live a victorious life!

About the Author

Marguerite and her husband, Jerry, live in a retirement community in McMinnville, Oregon. In 1967, Marguerite suffered from a massive paralytic stroke that left her permanently disabled. She had been an accomplished pianist but was now no longer able to play. With her feeling hopeless and devastated, depression soon set in, but the couple’s three young children rallied around her. Rekindling the faith of her childhood, Marguerite prayed to God for strength and wisdom. She talked to her former concert pianist teacher and he encouraged her to return to teaching piano to children, using only one hand. After multiple orthopedic surgeries, she no longer walks and is confined to a wheelchair. But her faith has greatly deepened and both she and her husbands are dedicated Christians, walking closely with Jesus. Approaching her eighty-fourth year, Marguerite has found great peace and joy in her life. Music still runs in her blood; she teaches one advanced student, and music continues to be a great source of pleasure. Anyone who loves music will enjoy the stories her famous teacher told her about the great composers and pianists of years gone by.
