About the Book

As a Childcare Provider, one of the things that the author recognized as being very difficult for children was seeing their parents leave them behind in a new place, surrounded by different faces, and being in a strange environment could be a very uncomfortable situation for a child; especially in some cases for the first time. “Do You Like Me?” is a book that helps children, parents, teachers, and guardians prepare for the first day of school. It helps children understand what will happen, learn how to make friends, and cope with the anxiety of the first day of school.

About the Author

About The Author Ava Cheatem, a former Child-Care Provider, has seen her fair share of frighten children arriving at her day care center. To soften the parent exit, she learned how to help the children feel safe and secure by providing interactive ways for saying goodbye to their parents and also reassuring them the first day would be so fun! Realizing that her day care children will have to face this challenge again as they entered kindergarten, “Do You Like Me” was created as a tool to help children cope with the first day of school. This is her second children’s book.
