About the Author

Rob and Amy Holmes have lived in the Smoky Mountains for many years. Rob came to Gatlinburg, TN as an artist doing murals and illustration work for over 30 years. Amy has always had an inspiration for writing books, poems, and songs. After surviving one of the worst wildfires with a near death experience, we were motivated to write and illustrate this children’s book about our daughter’s pet pig Charles. In writing this book, we hope to influence our readers as we have been inspired to pass on the courage to stay strong and overcome life’s obstacles and adversities. Despite the disaster, The Holmes family currently lives in the Great Smoky Mountains, and have no plans of leaving. Our family has, and will continue to be resilient.
