About the Book

Energetic Ebony eats healthy foods such as fruits and vegetables. She is active and has energy all day long to perform gymnastics and play with her friends. Lazy Luke eats unhealthy foods like doughnuts, milkshakes, slushies, cakes, hotdogs, candies, fries, cookies, and soft drinks. He sits down all day and plays video games. When Luke gets sick, Ebony is worried about him and brings him fruits and vegetables, the good food his body needs so he can recover quickly. With some fun science facts mixed in, this picture book for children tells the story of energetic Ebony and lazy Luke and how they discover the power of energy foods. It promotes the importance of eating healthily and demonstrates how good nutrition is vital to our well-being.

About the Author

A studied Nutritionist and Yoga teacher, Joanne Laoulach is passionate about improving health through the foods we eat. Suffering from food allergies and low energy levels as a teenager led Joanne on a journey of discovering the link between food and vitality. After healing her own life through her studies, research and yoga practice, she was inspired to write books for children. Joanne believes that healthy lifestyle choices should be ingrained at a young age. “I want the next generation of people to live a fulfilled and healthy life in order to reach their full potential in the world and to follow their purpose.” Joanne has a Bachelor of Science degree in nutrition and food and is a certified Yoga instructor. She has been teaching yoga for more than five years. She currently lives in Parramatta, New South Wales, Australia.
