from the prose/poem "Anarchy'': But still, scary boy-men in tight pants who roam the streets of the world, having lost their fathers, are like jack-rabbits in the underbrush of the world's wild trails, where there might be light through thickets here and there, but mostly, without fathers, they chase shadows and relieve themselves with truck rides over deserts or pirate ships on the open sea. There are no limits or edges or borders. They are not sure about dept- repayment and they might someday come to my front door and I have always been afraid of anarchy.

About the Book
These poems and short stories intersect the experience of living in rural America with the struggles and doubts of coming to faith in an age of skepticism and doubt. Having to deal with common, often mundane chores, brings moments of understanding and clarity. In contrast, having to deal with the frailties of human nature can often muddy the waters.
About the Author
Vicki moved to northeast Oregon with her husband and daughter in 1976 and bought 20 acres at the base of the Blue Mountains. This short collection of poems is about living in rural America and the impact that lifestyle has had on her faith life and the need for (almost) daily conversion. She now gardens, writes, teaches religious education, keeps house and home together and of course, reads a lot. She has two daughters and two small granddaughters.
