INTRODUCTION
There have been many wonderful writings on forgiving others and even forgiving yourself. The subject has been examined, explored, dissected and expounded so often and with such great insights that writing that book without fresh revelation would be redundant and quite frankly a waste of your time and mine. However, a brief time ago, GOD began dealing with me on the subject of forgiveness, but not in the way that many of you may think. HE began to speak into my spirit about a spiritual reset button that I now call “The Master Reset”. Until then, I’d never heard of anyone teaching such a thing. Neither did I imagine that such a thing existed. I prayed about it and even went on a fast for it. I first had to learn what it’s purpose was. I mean, why would we need such a thing. Then, it was how does it work? Can anyone use it? Can anyone have it? Does anyone have a revelation of it? Has anyone even heard of it besides me? All these questions stirring in my head would have no answers until day 12 of a 30 day fast. It was the 10 year anniversary of my book “30 Days To Pray For ME”, and I found myself going through the book once more. I had read the book every so often, but hadn’t done the fast and journal since I originally
.
wrote it. I set out to seek GOD for answers to some of the deep questions that were stirring in my heart and mind. I think I can confess to you that I was concerned about a great many things happening at that point in my life. My business was growing and I wasn’t sure how to direct it. My kids were getting older and moving away when I thought at that point they would help me in the family business as well as with the ministry. My wife was experiencing some health challenges as well as issues with the church she was pastoring, which by the way, was also a part of the ministry and as such under my authority. Establishing a new church in Baltimore, MD which of course meant traveling back and forth from South Carolina and training a new body from the ground up. Then, to top it all off, add to that a big fat dose of personal struggles that kept me constantly in the face of GOD for myself. Needless to say, this left very little time for me to do anything more than what was my routine. It was about a week in advance that my wife lovingly (as she often does) reminded me that we were scheduled to go to Dallas, TX for LeaderShift 2017, Bishop TD Jakes’ annual leadership conference. Reluctantly as it were, I nodded in half-hearted agreement (as I can sometime do) knowing that I didn’t have the time or quite frankly the desire to go away. I mean, who was
.
going to do the job schedules and payroll? Who was going to keep the crews moving and make sure everyone was on time and did their job? Without any answers I began to realize, and very fortunately so, it wouldn’t be me.
We got to the airport and the plane was over 4 hours late which meant of course we missed the first night’s general session. Most of us to tired even to stop along the way for a meal, we got to our sleep location just in time to seek a bed and get some much-needed rest. Funny thing is, the very next day at breakfast GOD placed in my heart to reveal to a select few, 3 to be exact, what HE had shared with me earlier about a “spiritual reset button” and what it was about. HE had only talked to me briefly about what it was and what it does, but the true revelation of it had not yet been released to me. HE had ministered to me about the “uprooting” of prior seeds (we’ll get to that later), and what it meant to me personally as well as the body of Christ. HE had dealt with me about how many of us are still being held hostage by our past and how even though we have done our due diligence, some of the seeds we had planted or that had been planted in us continued to wreak havoc on our lives. My question to HIM was, “Lord, if I’ve done everything I can to repent and
.
atone for my past (and sometimes even my present), how do I keep the seeds, or I should say weeds, I’ve sown from springing up into my future and in fact chocking out my destiny? It would be that next morning at that very table that GOD gave me the revelation of “The Master Reset”.
Now, before I go any further, I should back up and discuss some basic kingdom principles with you. Now I realize that many of you may already know some of these things, but If you don’t, for you this too will also be revelatory. If you do, I promise it won’t take long so please indulge me as I walk through it for others. I can assure you, it will be well worth the wait! Now then… Let us begin at the beginning shall we!?
CHAPTER 1 – Sowing and Reaping
The bible teaches us in Galatians 6:7(KJV):
Be not deceived; GOD is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall also he reap.
Most of us have heard and in fact understand this statement. By a show of hands, who has heard this text preached more in the context of money than anything else? Now don’t misunderstand me, this is a kingdom principal through and through. Which of course means that it applies to all things in context to include, you guessed it, money! However, the establishment of the principal itself had nothing to do with finance but everything to do with recompense. This basic meaning is that for everything one does, there is a measure of compensation or repayment. But it doesn’t end with that! It goes on to say in verse 8:
For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption;
Now we start to see the principal in the light of its originally penned purpose. We have always been
.
told that we must sow in order to reap. When we give, it shall be given. Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy. When we bless the Lord with our praise, HE blesses us with HIS things. I.E. when praises go up… Blessings come down. I could go on, but you get the point. Our focus has long been on the good we have sown coming back to us, but what happens to the bad? What happens to the seeds of corruption we’ve sown? We repent and move on right? Sometimes not so quickly. Now before you call me a heretic hear me out. Let’s look at a few scenarios that this might not be so quick or clear cut.
Suppose you have a fight with a family member who you’ve wronged. I’ll even liken it to have happened before you came into the knowledge of Christ since we Christians don’t do things like that (wink wink). Now this person has gone to the grave with you having ought against them. Even worse… With them having ought against you. Why would this be worse? Well, quite frankly because you’re alive. They on the other hand are not! This means while you can repent to GOD, you can’t go to them, the person you wronged and say I’m sorry. This is paramount because the scripture plainly teaches in Matthew 5:23-24:
.
Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
Let us remember that our gift is received based on the fact that we have not only repented to GOD, but repented to those we’ve wronged. Back to our example; the person we’ve wronged is now deceased. There is no way to reconcile with them. The worst part is that they have now died with unforgiveness in their heart because of you. Do you think that GOD will by some measure hold you accountable if they, because of you don’t make it into the kingdom? There is scriptural precedent for such a thing. GOD told Ezekiel in his 33rd chapter that if I tell you to tell a wicked person judgement is upon him but you don’t, not only will he die, but I will require the blood at your hands! How powerful a statement this is!
