Sickle Cell She could not take everything from Penny. She had already given her enough pain to last her for a lifetime. She gave her pain that feels like someone hammering nails in her bones, like she wants to die from so much pain, like her bones have been shattered and broken into pieces, like she will never be pain-free ever again, like someone pounding in her chest, like her heart coming out of her chest inch by inch. Sickle cell has taken many moments from Penny. Sickle cell does not care that you want to celebrate your birthday with your family. Sickle cell does not care if it is New Year’s, Christmas, 4th of July nor any other holiday. You not only took away graces from Penny. The pain you caused me too Physical and Emotional Psychological And Spiritual You could not take all of our spiritual pain. You left us with each other to enjoy life the best way we could. You challenged us with life’s lessons. Appreciation, Gratefulness for every day

About the Book
This book tells her story about herself and her experiences in parenting a child with sickle cell anemia. Her daughter, Penny, was born with sickle cell anemia and is now a thirty-four-year-old mom of one six-year-old son, Diyaari. Despite their challenges, they have lived a happy and comfortable life and will continue to do so for many more years. (Angie and Penny together forever). The author is also known as Angie, her grandmother’s name. This book is just a sneak peek into information and my experiences with sickle cell.
About the Author
Carol Dominguez was born in Belize City, Belize -Central America. She moved to New York City when she was 21 years old and still currently lives there. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and a Master’s Degree in Education. She has worked as a banker, at a publishing company and an educator. She is now enjoying her retirement years. She has a loving family - one daughter, Penny and one grandson, Diyaari.
