About the Book

Mostly, my purpose for writing this was to give my children the legacy of their heritage and some knowledge about their father from a different angle/perspective along with the illusion I harbored that they might feel a sense of pride from knowing their roots. Perhaps after reading this legacy, they would find peace in their hearts and a better understanding of themselves and the world that surrounds them. In addition, I hope that this book would open many eyes and provide a wider view of the world.

About the Author

About the Author Victor Bianco is a social worker who dedicated his life to his family and to his work. His experience in foster care, psychiatric clinics, and the NYC public school system made him a concerned humanist. He has traveled extensively and interacted with many cultures. He currently lives in Little Neck, NY with his present wife and stepdaughter. This book doesn’t include this part of his life because it is needs a separate writing. Although I had planned to write my memoir influenced by my daughter for the past few years, the social-political events that started in early 2016 triggered certain disturbing memories that pushed me further into the writing. The whole thing started as a memoir but has gradually become a collection of many memories. My intent was to offer a recollection of facts and events in my life for my children, hoping that they would relish the stories while they learned about their roots.
