Do you know how to care for naturally curly afro-textured hair? The IMENA method will help professionals increase their knowledge and therefore increase their revenues and profits. It will also help everyday people learn hair-care techniques that will help them master natural hair styling at home! The IMENA method was created by Tami C. to educate stylists and clients on how to care for naturally curly hair. This book invites readers to learn a common language and the techniques around caring for natural hair so that communication among stylists and clients can be open, honest, and transparent. Tami C. is a professional hairstylist and owner of IMENA Inc., a hair-and-beauty company based in Harlem, New York, and a graduate of the American Beauty School in the Bronx, New York. Tami started IMENA Inc. in 2008 so that clients could have a place to go to get their hair done that understands, appreciates, and embraces their diversity in hair textures, lengths, and styles. While owning a salon space, she realized quickly the need for educating stylists and clients on curly afro-textured hair. She wanted to create a text that would help individuals learn how to work with and care for this type of hair in a way that would be entertaining and easy to follow. About the Author

Tami C. is a professional hairstylist and owner of IMENA inc. a hair and beauty company based in Harlem, New York, She is also a social worker. She received her Master of Social Work degree from the City University of New York, Hunter College School of Social Work in June of 2011. Tami started IMENA inc. in 2008 so that clients could have a place to go to get their hair done that understands, appreciates, and embraces their diversity in hair textures, lengths, and styles. Tami C. is a mother, daughter, sister and aunt of 6 nieces and 1 nephew (Alexus, Anayah, Anaejah, Nyla, Jaylen, Ellie and Langston). Tami loves yoga, boxing, photography, knitting scarves for her friends, and serving her community through volunteering with several non profit organizations. She currently lives in Harlem, NY.
