About the Book

The book is intended to serve as a parenting manual for moms, in all categories of motherhood, who want to understand how to raise a child to lead a healthy life. The book is very good for • first-time mothers or parents, • mothers with multiple childbirth experience, • would-be mothers, and • single mothers or single parents. Parents like their children to be healthy and remain that way into adulthood. Therefore, this book teaches parents about strategies and principles necessary to do just that. Great parenting concepts and various kinds of parenting styles are discussed in details. The information is relevant for people who had poor or no parental upbringing, as well as those who experienced outstanding parental love and care. The future health of the child depends on what the parents do right from age week 1 of the child’s life. This book, The Healthy Child: Growth and Development, will also educate parents on great parenting skills and styles. This piece of literary work will introduce parents to the dos and don’ts of parenting on such issues as health; nutrition; discipline; emotional and cognitive developments; spiritual, physical, and moral well-being; and sensitivity. The book will cause you to evaluate your own upbringing by your parents and, thereby, make you commend and credit them for the healthy adult that you are today, or it will help you avoid mistakes that they made when you are raising your own child or children. This is an awesome gift for all women and for parents at all levels of parenting!

About the Author

Professor Robert G. Vollay, DBA, MBA, is the founder and CEO of Organization for Global Health Empowerment, Inc., headquartered in the United States, Founder and President of Hope Professional Copywriting, LLC. He is a professor of Leadership and Organizational Behavior, Marketing Management, as well as Instructor of Applied Psychology In Healthcare and Anatomy & Physiology. Prior to taking on the responsibility of an educator in the United States, he served the American Red Cross as a Supervisor within Biomedical Science Division for nearly 10 years, and Program Director for Lake Neuro-rehabilitation Center in the State of New Hampshire. In addition, Professor Vollay is a Professional Copywriter. It’s weird; that he chooses to write this book whose object is “Parenting Made Simple” - in the light of parent’s direct involvement in the Healthy Child’s Growth and Development Process. This is something, which he himself never experienced. Parental affection, care, love and family interaction, were never his portion, growing up. He grew up practically on his own. Professor Vollay started fetching for himself at age 12, after the death of his biological mother, whom he left at age 5 and never saw again up to her death. She died when he was 6. But before this age, one of his uncles, who had gone to visit with family members and other relatives up country (in the village in Africa), asked his parents if he could bring him along with him to the city so as to educate him. This kind hearted – God sent uncle, took Vollay to the city to live with him and his wife. This was in West Africa – the rest is a long story. He wishes to attribute his level of achievements to the Grace of God – God’s plan for his life (Jeremiah 29:11), his personal unwavering ambition and never losing focus on “what you want in life” - kind of personality. Needless to mention, he pays special homage to his late uncle and his wife. Without a stable, proper parental upbringing or support, what qualifies him to write a book on “Parenting”? Here’s why: In addition to research, and personal interviews conducted with some prominent women whom he regards as great mothers, he gives credit to the mother of his children: Tracey and Jeremy. She is his greatest inspiration for this text, especially when it comes to demonstrating motherly care, affection and love to one’s children. Her parenting style, affection for the kids, care, love and unbelievable concern about their well-being: spiritual, emotional, physical, moral, health, education and the road map for a successful future for each of them is so intriguing. At times, he gets tempted to regret about all that he missed about motherly upbringing just by observing how much interest this woman has in the kids, and how much sacrifice she’s willing to make for them each day. Indeed, she is a living definition of who a true mother is – thank God for her and all other outstanding mothers around the world. This book is dedicated to all mothers, especially Single Mothers, first time mothers, mothers who have experienced multiple child births and my children: Patrick, Vedora, Tracey and Jeremy. Hence, this manual comes to you directly from my heart based on my desire to see every child enjoying an outstanding parental upbringing and leading a healthy life into adulthood. The Healthy Child – Growth and Development; “Parenting Made Simple”, is truly a gift. Read through the book, apply the contents and concepts so that thou can be an awesome P A R E N T.
