“The cellular level, where emotions are instigated, is also where unexpressed emotions are stored. The catharsis of illness expresses the sudden, overwhelming release of information that has been trapped in our bodies. What Freud termed the ‘subconscious mind’ is actually a measurable physical process. In other words, there is no ‘mind-body problem.’ Your body is your subconscious mind.” (1) Repressed Emotions There are three general ways in which we record experiences, at least in a way that serves our purposes here with Spirit Code. The first way we record experiences is through our emotions, the second is subconscious beliefs, and the third is images. (we will discuss the latter two in the two following sections) Everything you have ever experienced is recorded in your mind-body system in one of these three ways— emotions, subconscious beliefs, and memories. If you were to recall an experience from your childhood, like one of your birthdays, you would record this in each of these three ways. There would be an emotional experience represented. There would be a visual, a memory picture. Most likely, there would be a way to record this experience by a belief. This could be a belief that you already operated in before that moment in your life, or it could be one that originated as a consequence of that event. For example, let's say that you recall your 7th birthday. You are able to remember who was there and what happened. This is a visual memory that you are able to bring back to your mind. If we assume this was a positive experience, there would be comfortable emotions associated with this event. For our interests, let's conclude that your belief is that friends are fun and family is safe. Consequently, your specific belief would be that you are supported and valued by others. If, on the other hand, you had a negative experience from this birthday party, perhaps because you vomited after eating the cake due to anxious excitement. You would, as a consequence, record this event more negatively. You would most likely have a visual image of this incident that haunts you even now. Your emotions of shame and horror would still reverberate in you in some measure every time you recall that event. You, most certainly, would have developed an impression of this event that over time became integrated into your subconscious. This is a belief that shaped this experience and may go something like this, "I am unacceptable." In this section, we want to focus on the emotions associated with our experiences in life. A recent article in The Atlantic reported new research about emotions from the Institute of Neuroscience and Psychology at the University of Glasgow. These Glasgow scientists studied people's facial expressions and the emotions emitted while they viewed computer generated facial animations. These researchers concluded that there are only four basic emotions or emotional groupings: Happy, Sad, Afraid/Surprised, and Angry/Disgusted What we have done here, for our purposes with Spirit Code, is to expand on these four basic groupings with other words that describe additional emotional experiences. We have taken the four general emotional groupings provided by the Glasgow group and expanded on each of these by adding eleven more emotions, totaling twelve in each section. In total, there are sixty emotions to pick from— thirty-six are considered negative or uncomfortable emotions and twenty-four are positive or comfortable emotional states. Throughout our personal history we have had many encounters that resulted in an emotional experience. For much of our lives we have no skill or mechanism to discharge these emotions, so they become repressed. Repressed emotions wreak havoc in the body/soul system, creating disturbances that are physiological, psychological, and spiritual. In a Spirit Code session, you may, through intuitive sensing, be led to one or more of these repressed emotions lodged in the body/soul system from a previous event. As you work with repressed emotions, there could be additional questions you may be led to ask. For example, what age did this emotion originate? What was the context of that emotion? Who was present? Did this involve another person or a group of people, etc. Continue to ask questions until you do not need to know anything more and are then able to release the energy contained in this emotional experience. Spirit may want to reveal a lot about this particular emotion, or very little. The longer we have been using the Spirit Code protocol the fewer questions we are being led to ask. In fact, most often we do not ask any additional questions at all. It appears as if the ego wants to know more, and this may be intriguing and informative to learn these details, yet the eventual goal of this work is to release the energy associated with the emotion. The quicker we arrive at this objective the better. Once you receive indication from Spirit that there is nothing more to know, you will thoroughly and completely release the emotion through prayer, laying on of hands, and/or swiping the governing meridian. The Spirit Code emotions are as follows: A.) 1. Sad 2. Depressed 3. Grief 4. Sorrow 5. Guilt 6. Shame 7. Discouragement 8. Despair 9. Heartache 10. Crying 11. Overwhelm 12. Conflict B.) 1. Fear 2. Surprised 3. Insecurity 4. Worry 5. Anxiety 6. Jealousy/Longing 7. Indecisiveness 8. Terror 9. Shock 10. Vulnerability 11. Panic 12. Dread C.) 1. Anger 2. Defensiveness 3. Unkindness 4. Annoyed 5. Amusement 11. Enjoyment 12. Awe You will notice that there are five groupings, three that would be considered negative and two that are positive. We added onto the emotions offered by the Glasgow group because we believe there is much to capture from a past event, not only from a negative emotion, but a positive emotional experience as well. Most often the repressed emotion in question is the person's own emotion, yet it may be absorbed from another person. The emotion could also be inherited from the family line. Repressed emotions can be formed in the womb, at conception, or prior to conception. Emotions may have their origin in that place where we were before we came here. You could also have negative emotions stemming from your unwillingness to come to this planet. You may be led to discern when in time this emotion originated. This could be anywhere in the past, and there are times when the emotion comes from the future. It could be absorbed from the spiritual world and any one of the spirit beings there. It may prove beneficial to determine the context where this emotion originated, which is to be explored as you are guided by Spirit. As you can see, there are many questions to be asked. Do not ask too many questions, yet do not ask too few. You are working with Spirit to bring the emotional experience up from the subconscious in order to release it. You only need to ask as many questions as is necessary for the emotion to be present enough in the client’s experience to be released. In reference to the positive emotions on the list, you may not need to release these. As you are led to a positive emotion, for example joy, this could simply be a data point to consider. If so, reflect on this and its meaning for the client.
