About the Author

Scholar N. Takem is a Licensed Independent Social worker. She was a clinical social worker for many years in a Children’s Hospital in Ohio. She is currently working as a School Social Worker in Ohio. Multicultural issues and self-esteem issues are some of her interests. Through this children’s book that delves in multicultural issues, Scholar hopes that parents from diverse cultural, racial and ethnic backgrounds can help share their stories to their children. Scholar also hopes that through this children’s book, children will learn about their cultural heritage and in turn, feel good about themselves, knowing that irrespective of where we come from, we all have a cultural heritage. Through the stories we share with our children and others, it will foster understanding and respect of each other. It will help us to see the strengths we all have, and it will help to promote our humanity.
