About the Book

Nuggets from Scripture consists of nineteen stand-alone articles about Bible characters, objects, events, and words that even mature Bible students may find new, surprising, challenging, and edifying. Subjects include music, tents, drugs, prophets, poetry, government, resurrection, and many more from both Old and New Testaments. One or two articles may be considered controversial or disputatious, one is lighthearted, and one is fictional in format. However, all are solidly Bible-based. These truths will find their ways into sermons, lessons, and conversations. Because most of the articles are only five to fifteen pages long, one apt subtitle is A Bedtime Reader for Bible Lovers. But this is not a collection of trivia or sedatives. It is serious, and a high view of scripture is maintained.

About the Author

David Boersma is a retired chemical engineer (BS, University of Colorado, 1959), but he has not retired from serving his lord, Jesus Christ. He grew up in Colorado and moved to Georgia in 1961, where he met his wife Wyolene (Hall). They were married in 1965 and have four children and three grandchildren. After David’s 32-year career as a nuclear research engineer and supervisor, they moved to McCormick, SC, where he enjoys camping, forestry, gardening, Bible study, and writing. He has served as deacon and ruling elder in the Presbyterian Church in America. David has taught numerous Bible classes, mostly on Old Testament subjects, and has written two previous books: Prophets of the Bible (Xlibris, 2008) and Concise Bible Prophets (AMG, 2016).
