About the Book

Written in the format of a personal journal, author S. S. Patterson takes us on an inner journey of self discovery. Newly married and assuming the role of step-parent, blending two families, unhappy with her work situation, craving a life of meaning and simplicity and balance without the sneers of the prevailing corporate consciousness, she begins questioning the assumptions and circumstances around her. Why is wanting to be with your children so wrong? What is the role of a woman today suppose to be? Why is what we do for a living who we are? What she ends up finding is validation, direction and purpose as a wife, mother and individual. Written in three parts, the journey is easy to follow and understand. Relying on quotes and saying passed down through literature and history and film, the author provides much for the reader to contemplate. About the Author

S. S. Patterson is a graduate of California Lutheran University. She began parenthood as a teenage mother trying to complete high school; she moved on to being a single parent of two, working and attending college on a full time basis; and finally, she married and tackled the role of step-parent as well. Currently, Ms. Patterson is working on another book about her homeschooling experience as a mother and resides with her husband, Joe, and two of her three sons, Robert and David.
