About the Book

What if world religions treated you and each other with the same kindness, respect and equality that you receive when you dial 9-1-1? What does fire department customer service have to offer the world’s religions about treating all people with dignity and respect? If the word “religion” literally means “to bring together”, then why do world religions inadvertently foster divisive exclusivity? Fire Department Religion demonstrates that if the world’s religions adopted fire service customer service principles, religion would finally bring people together, promote universal human rights, create opportunities for world peace, and ultimately lead to a validation of the One God whose voice we all hear in equally beautiful ways.

About the Author

Carl G. Carlozzi, Chaplain of the Phoenix Fire Department, provides on scene customer service assistance to people who are experiencing or dealing with tragic situations. The assistance given is always in a manner respectful of the individual’s beliefs. Fr. Carl, an Episcopal priest with a Doctor of Ministry degree and postgraduate training in family therapy, served as a member of FEMA AZ Task Force 1 with deployments to Oklahoma City and the World Trade Center. He was the recipient of the Hon Kachina Award for Outstanding Volunteerism in Arizona. His position as Chaplain is funded by the generosity of the William S. and Ina Levine Foundation.
