About the Author

I was born in Redwood City, California, November 15, 1977. I have been painting and drawing since I could walk. I have always seen the world in terms of light and shade. The brightness or the dullness of colors shape my world. Compositions present themselves at every turn, and I am fortunate if I slow myself down enough to notice them. Early in 2002, I began to search for a method of painting which was cathartic and beautiful. Using house paint and furniture paint, in the style of Jackson Pollock, a completely new style emerged, this eventually became Gravitational Art. Gravitational Art is a derivative of Jackson Pollock’s style that imitates nature with lines that are formed through the mechanization of the body. Paint overlaps so the light and dark colors swirl like the spirals of overlapping branches. Cloudy shapes like a Rorschach inkblot become clouds, leaves, water, wind, and space. The movement of the paint imbued with the push of gravity is a frozen record of the force that holds our world together. The paint is a visual representation of those un-seeable vibrations. Every painting has a sound. The sound vibration the color represents is in tune with human emotions. So each person’s reaction to any one painting will be connected to their own personal history, and the emotions those color combinations evoke.
