About the Book

"Historians call 1968 ‘the year that rocked the world.’ But for high school senior Kelly Masters, a Presbyterian residing in Oxford Circle, the predominantly Jewish section of Northeast Philadelphia, it’s business as usual. That is until he encounters Sarah Lehman (or Charlie) an avante garde envoy of the domestic counter-culture who shakes up his insular world and broadens his horizons like no girl has ever before. However, the effect of whatever Charlie exposed him to in the late sixties remained repressed for decades, only to be unearthed by the arrival of an invitation to his 40th high school reunion. Now Kelly is forced to come to terms with the terrible tragedy that undermined his adolescence and transported him onto The Other Side of Innocence."
