About the Book

Mr. Zwerenz´s Selected Poems is an anthology of poetry from the author´s earlier years and reads like a sort of rhyming travel diary. The author introduces to the reader´s mind visions of castles and carriages in a time of cellular phones and the internet. Selected Poems, if it aspires to accomplish anything consciously specific, appears to make an attempt to capture what is apparently "timeless", at least ostensibly to the book´s author. Whether the reader agrees with Mr. Zwerenz´s appraisal of what constitutes "timelessness" is clearly a subjective matter. Much of the book is comprised of sonnets, and almost all are written in a romantic fashion not too far distant from much of the tone of the 19th century´s movement´s founders. For fans of Mist And Flame, the 42 year old´s other published poetry book, Selected Poems gives a keen insight into Mr. Zwerenz´s earlier days as a poet.
