About the Book

Our idea to bring Luigi to life started in 2007 with a little drawing on a sub shop napkin. Luigi is a black sheep from Italy who moves to America with his family in search of a better life. This is actually a true story. It's about my Co-Author and boyfriend, Angelo, whose family were farmers in San Pietro in Valle, Italy. They came to America in 1969. The day Neil Armstrong landed on the moon, Angelo landed in New York City. Please enjoy our first children's book about life as an immigrant and the kind souls who accepted Luigi for who he is, different. With the help of my son, Jesse, and his childhood innocence, we wrote a story to embrace your hearts and encourage every child who struggles with being a little different, in any way, that they are special, important and amazing!
