About the Author

Bill Auer has been professionally teaching guitar for the past 30 years, covering many different styles of music including folk, rock, blues, classical and jazz. He has studied under the instruction of many different guitar teachers including Steve McKenna, Ike Isaacs and Graham Cox and in the past has attended a number of different Jazz clinics at the Sydney Conservatorium of music. He has also completed various jazz theory courses hosted by the conservatorium and the Jazz Action Society. Bill has also played with a number of rock, folk, blues and jazz bands over the last 40 years and was once part of the band that later went on to become ‘ Flowers ‘ and later ‘ Ice House ‘. He has also performed in a jazz group playing regularly at various restaurants in North Sydney. For the last seven years, Bill has managed and conducted the University of Technology, U.T.S. Sydney Jazz Band.
