About the Book

This is a story about Angus Cain, a young Scottish lad who leaves the sea to fight in the Civil War and then inevitably travels west to fulfill his dream of being a Cattleman in the exciting and developing West. After establishing his ranch he works hard to bring it to fruition, but knows he must find a wife so he can have the children needed to carry forward what he has worked for and developed into the future. He meets a young Scottish Lass named Mary Anne McCardle, sent to the New Land by her father, a Scottish farmer with a love for the Hereford, to develop her skills as a cattleman. Angus and Mary Anne marry and out of a necessity to hasten law and order, together serve this need by becoming United Sates Marshals. Conspiracies by those who would attempt to gain illegally abound. There are very trying times but good men and women prevailed by working together to establish and preserve those values inherent in the pioneers of the west that led to the building of a nation. Love, intrigue, deception, bravery and dedication are woven into the structure of the story to help the reader escape into the past so as to experience the glory of what is just and the dedication necessary, given by so many, to know such victories in life.

About the Author

Stuart Haussler has been writing Western and Military novels for twenty years. He brings to his novels, based on his eighty years, knowledge acquired as a Rancher, Doctor, Teacher and Naval/Marine Officer. So as to entertain, Sedition: The Mother of Treason is an intentional fabrication of the mind, based on imagination, experience, dedication, concern for and a total love of his country. Tid-bits of today's reality innoculate the story with the fibers of truth by insinuation.
