This is not an autobiography, yet I will share this about my truth: my awakening or rebirth didn’t begin until I was a young adult. Therefore, I can admit (without pride or shame now) that I spent my teen years and even later making many mistakes as well as outright poor decisions – all which helped me begin to recognize two things: 1) there is a God, who is REAL; and 2) there is more to life than day-to-day doing what I feel, think or want. Actually, it dawned on me that I wasn’t even living life, rather I was just existing. The awakening has a definite beginning but no exact ending. So, the key is to always strive to learn about yourself and your purpose – and to grow forward on this journey. Note this difference: going forward implies that there’s simply movement ahead - perhaps even just time passing and no guarantee of productivity; whereas, growing forward signifies progressive movement and development along the way, which requires intent awareness of the sojourner’s thoughts and actions. As I reflect on my yesterdays, I choose to thank God! It is His faithfulness, mercy and grace that have been the constant factors operating for, within and even in spite of me – to bring me to and through this very moment. I’ve learned that life is real, life is good – and even that life can be “real good.” It is my hope that anyone who reads The Sowing Kit may glean from it. I pray that you receive it as a source of encouragement, challenge and renewal. I pray that there be an awakening in your spirit to accept the truth that there is a purpose in the process. May you agree that life is a journey…and learn to enjoy it. If it be that you sow in tears, just know that you shall reap in joy. Reflection allows you to see what’s behind you – so what do you with it? Is there a change to be made – or do you like what you see? Make a decision. If you can’t look back at your yesterdays with a smile, then take a long, hard look at what you’re doing today.
