About the Author
I was born on Sept. "1", 1938 on an 80 acre farm in Mancelona twp, Antrim county, Michigan. The youngest of 7 children. My father would laugh later and tell me that he and my mother decided that the seed was going sour, so no more kids. I was born with a pallet lip and also had appendicitous surgery at 2 years and every ailment that came down the pike. Graduated in 1956 in a class of 21. Married in March of 1958 and we have at this time, 5 living children and 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Throughout my life I have worked as a farmer, in a lumber yard, as a machinist, in a factory as a machine operator and a security guard in a casino. and now as a county commissioner here in Antrim county. It has indeed been a trip and I hope it continues. This book is factual, but funny in some areas, about the daily life and loves and trials of a northern Michigan farmboy from 1938 to 1958. It will give you laughter, tears and a lot to think about.
