About the Book

Author and playwright John Brown, christened Barrington Beverage, finds his talent for drama as a college student to be a satisfying and eventually profitable means to earn a livelihood. Early in his career he marries Jenny Hailey and discovers that he not only has now embraced a wife but also a leading lady for his plays. While pursuing his dream of creating and directing one of his plays, he discovers a scrawny cat in the theatre; he follows the cat into the bowels of the La Wasseau. John and his cat stumble upon an old trunk that is dusty and has been forsaken for years. …..The trunk and the cat are the inspiration for the play “Triumph” that will become a hit not only here in Philadelphia but also in Hollywood. It is the vehicle through which John’s beloved Jenny becomes the recipient of an Oscar for her performance. Follow their adventures across the United States.

About the Author

A long time resident of Media, Pennsylvania, Mr. Sharp spent much of his life guiding youth as a teacher in the Chester, Pa. school district. Together with his late wife, Marjorie, he prepared plays based on Operas that were presented live on the educational radio station. George, at age 92 continues to relate to his readers tidbits of history as he remembers it that is centered in the local areas of Chester, Upland and Media, Pennsylvania. George received his Master’s degree in education through Temple University in 1950.
