Leslie Scott was sent to stay with her Aunt Sarah when her parents win a contest trip to Europe. She is unhappy over her circumstances until she makes friends with Michael Burnison and Janet Linn. A mysterious note has aroused her curiosity. She is also disturbed by “shuffling” noises in the attic over her bedroom. About the Author
DOROTHY A. HEIBEL studied writing through the Institute of Children’s Literature, Redding, CT. Her inspiration for writing comes from her ten grandchildren plus a large stripped cat named “Tigger”. She had developed an interest in the quaint style of the Victorian house. This led her to wonder about the characters who might live inside. MYSTERY OF THE FORBIDDEN ATTIC was the result. A granddaughter commented that the mystery was not completely solved in the end of the story. She advised her grandmother to write another book. Thus THE IVORY FAN MYSTERY was born.
